Sunlight House is one of Manchester’s landmark buildings. Constructed in 1932 by legendary developer Joe Sunlight, ambitious plans to make it the north of England’s first true skyscraper were never completed, but the numbers still make impressive reading. The building is 41m tall and comprises of 14 storeys, and with its art deco design features it has earned Grade II listing.
Contract Services sympathetic treatment of the original finishes extended to restoration of the original plaster cornices and feature joinery. However, the innovative mechanical and electrical installation ensured there was no compromise when it came to providing high quality office space with built in flexibility. Floors 3, 11 & 12 have the distinction of providing the largest single lot of commercial space of 2013 in Manchester –70,000 sq ft. Working closely with tenants, Rental Cars, Contract Services completed the Cat B fitout concurrently with the Landlord’s refurbishment saving time and costs all round.
